My Love Story,
I had been saved four years, and asked God when I first got saved please send me the man He made for me. After about two years of closing my prayers with the same petition. The Lord spoke to me and said; “Arlene instead of asking me for your husband, just begin to thank me for your husband”. I said; “O.K.” The Lord ask me at the peak of my modeling career to go to Life Bible College for 2 years. I did, at the end of 2 years I stood on the college roof, and cried because I did not no how God was going to do this! We had a singing group back then and was booked to sing New Years Eve at some friends! We went over, as soon as I walked in the door my friends brother was there visiting from Japan for the Christmas holidays! As soon as I saw him , I turned around and went back outside! I thought, wow he’s a good looking guy! Let me get my composer and re-enter the room! He smiled, his brother introduced us! Our group started singing! I’m like wow! I invited him to go to our church. He did, after knowing him on the 3rd day, he asked me to marry him! On the 2nd day the Lord gave me a scripture Jeremiah 29:11-14. I used this on my napkins as my confirmation scripture. I lived by 1 Corinthians 7:1. The first time we kissed was on our wedding day, which was a year later. He had to return to Japan to finish his tour and was only home for the holidays for a week. It was amazing, talk about romantic, and we’ve been married now 27 years with 2 children a boy and a girl. And we are still madly in love with each other, and the Lord!
To God Be All the Glory,
Arlene & Lavantes
