One of the things I enjoy most is watching someone doing what they love. When a friend, loved one or even a total stranger finds their groove in life, it just lights something up on the inside of me. I’ve had countless conversations with people, both young and older, about purpose, callings and passions, and one question always seems to come up, “How do I find my passion?” I answer that question with a question.
Paying our bills, having health insurance and saving for the future are generally the reasons that keep us in whatever career we’re in now, whether we really enjoy our work or not. I’ve always wondered just how differently life would be if all those needs were taken care of and you could truly do what you wanted to.
So, what would you do if money wasn’t an object? Think about it and watch this video. I must add that I thoroughly enjoy Susan Isaacs and her book Angry Conversations with God. Here she shares about how to find one’s calling and what it feels like when you do.

Hi Susan: I’m a retired artist and I kept having this feelin like “there is something more God wants me to do with this besides paint pictures and sell them in my daughter’s shop”. My husband had a hip replacement two weeks ago, and while I was in the hospital with him, I signed up as a volunteer to head up a new Art Therapy program at the hospital. I donated 24 framed prints and decorated the drab orthopedic wing and now I am getting ready to follow my dream. Everything you said in your video is “spot on”!!!

If money were not an object—I would own & live on an alpaca ranch,would also have a few horses & a beautiful log home. Eventually this would become a working ranch for persons with disabilities,they would also live there in their own private quarters. It would be in the mountains,but not far from the city. That is my life long dream.

I grew up dirt poor. Never been exposed to much except hard work.Never had a life long dream. But I do encourage my son and daughter to find out what it is they love doing so much, they wouldn’t care if they never got paid to do it.How does one dream if you just don’t know what to do?

I am about 10 yrs. from retirement, my husband is sick and i am going no where in my job. All the things that are my passion i can not do because of money. I’d like to be a cosmetoligest have my license,but can’t aford no ins.i’d like to take pictures and am good at it, can’t aford having no ins. I’v gone to school for business, had to quit. I do keep the faith that someday God will put me where i need to be.
