Golf is a serious game. Well, most of the time.
I interviewed Rickie Fowler at the Crowne Plaza Invitational in May and he was pretty serious. I interviewed Ben Crane this week and he was pretty serious too.
This, is not serious. It’s a music video featuring “Golf Boys,” a so-called pop band made up of PGA golfers Fowler, Crane, Hunter Mahan and Bubba Watson sporting outfits that have promptly been banned on golf courses worldwide.
Farmers Insurance is donating $1,000 for every 100,000 views to support both Farmers and Ben Crane charitable initiatives. It’s already up to over 2.3 million views in less than two months. Got to say, it’s great to see some people in golf not taking themselves too seriously for a change.
Check out the slightly more serious Inspiring Athletes interview with Rickie Fowler by clicking HERE and be looking for an excerpt of that also pretty serious Ben Crane interview in the coming weeks. I’ll leave the comedy up to the professionals.

It’s nice to see PGA professionals having a bit of fun and doing it for charity at the same time. Sometimes on TV they come across as a bit precious. What was interesting here for me was the difference in personality for Ben Crane and Rickie Fowler. On the golf course Rickie is the flamboyant one but there’s a wild side to Ben it seems that never comes across on the course. Anyway credit where credit is due. Nice one, guys.

When ESPN stops covering it, so will I.

What sport does Bubba play then? I know he enjoys the pastime of golf. That’s the one when some chap follows behind you with some equipment. He then hands you a club, you swing it at a tiny ball then hand the club back to the chap with the big bag. You then walk at a leisurely pace towards the direction of the, said, ball.
