Entering the Big O Tires NHRA Nationals, Mike Edwards knew his chance of winning a second Pro Stock championship was gone. That honor was ultimately clinched by fellow competitor Jason Line.

But that didn’t stop Edwards from giving a championship effort at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway where the 2009 champion collected his fourth win of the season and the 32nd win of his career. Edwards is now second in the points with one race remaining on the 2011 schedule.

Earlier this year, Edwards told Inspiring Athletes that victories and championships provide an invaluable platform for his faith testimony and the team’s ministry partnership with Young Life.

“It all goes hand in hand,” Edwards said. “When you have success on the track, it gives you more opportunities to do interviews and to talk about the things that matter to you.”

As the race heats up this fall, there are many of you who will be losing such channels as Speed, FX, FOX Sports, and many more!! Contract Negotiations between FOX and DirecTV have hit a snag, and on Nov.1 FOX will be yanking much of its content from DirecTV customers. I used to have DTV< but this latest issue with DTV makes me happy I can get ALL my sporting TV through work at DISH network. We have Speed, NFL Network, RedZone, and much more for every consumers interests. If you're done dealing with DTV legal problems, check out a better option at Dishnework.com!!
