Mike Edwards wins second NHRA race of 2012 season at Bristol

posted by Chad Bonham

Mike Edwards won his second NHRA race of the season and extended his winning streak at Bristol to four. With a near perfect .005-second light and his 6.674-second pass was enough to hold off Allen Johnson’s Dodge Avenger, which clocked a quicker but losing 6.661-second.

“I don’t even know how you can describe something like [the final] in words,” Edwards said in a team press release. “Four zeros for the margin of victory. I just can’t believe it. Sometimes, we struggle just a little bit, and then we come to this place [Bristol], and we do well.”

Edwards jumped to fourth place in the points standing with his victory.
